Learn how Jackson’s collaborative approach to interior design improves functionality, supports users and strengthens project teams.
Long an advocate for interior design as a partner in commercial design, AnnMarie Jackson found the ideal professional home in 2022 when she joined Haskell, a pioneer in integrated project delivery where collaboration is at the heart of every project.
Having played a role in a wide variety of facilities, including commercial, educational, healthcare and government, Jackson, Interior Design Director for Public Facilities within the Charlotte office, approaches each project with the client and users in mind, using evidence-based design principles to guide and inform projects to create unique solutions and improve outcomes.
“I am always trying to build awareness about the importance of integrated interior design,” Jackson said. “I love creating strategies that engage other disciplines at Haskell, showing how design can be truly impactful. It’s about engaging with clients and presenting the total package; that’s a core part of the value we bring as a firm."
“I am constantly around individuals on new projects or existing projects where the stakes are high. There are difficult conversations every day, and we debate with an exceptional level of professionalism and care. It’s such a great atmosphere that when I circle back to somebody on a project, I’m not afraid to speak up.”
For her enthusiasm and collaborative work, Jackson has received Haskell’s Living the Values Award, given quarterly to team members who exemplify the company’s core values of Team, Excellence, Service and Trust.
“As a valued leader of the Interior Design department in Charlotte (North Carolina), AnnMarie brings optimism and positive energy to work, providing guidance, direction and coordination with other disciplines to ensure successful project outcomes,” Charlie Rocheleau, Haskell’s Segment Market Leader, wrote in nominating Jackson. “She consistently initiates new and innovative solutions and values perspectives from everyone in the organization.”
Jackson has more than 35 years of experience and numerous accolades. In 2016, she was named a fellow of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), an honor awarded to less than 1 percent of members, and in 2024, she received the Dora Gray Award from the ASID Carolinas Chapter, the highest honor a chapter gives to a designer, recognizing work quality, contributions to society and to the chapter.
She regularly gives back to her local community by participating in Haskell volunteer events. She has been actively involved in leadership and support of Healing Vine Harbor, a local organization dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk women. Her support has included volunteering to renovate the office and create a space where the women can gather for workshops, training, and counseling.
The Living the Values honor, she said, was further evidence of the great atmosphere at Haskell.
“My co-workers completely reeled me in,” Jackson said. “They surprised me at a scheduled meeting with lots of people and balloons in a big conference room. That reinforced for me that the key thing here at Haskell is the people across the entire company. I have been really blessed to be around all these good and decent people.”
Driven by our core values of Team, Excellence, Service and Trust, Haskell is committed to contributing to the communities where we live and work. Contact us to discuss your facilities – and your community’s – needs.
