Neighboring communities have urban design expectations.
Located in the heart of an urban outpatient campus, and part of a multi-project parking program, a new four-story, 1,800-space parking structure was designed and built by Haskell for Baptist Health. The project is designed to reflect the scale and character of the residential community that borders the campus and the parking structure.
Lighting was designed to minimize impact and disruption.
Close attention was given to lighting on the upper level of the deck to minimize impact to the neighborhood in the evening hours. The precast design is developed to work with the sloped site with an efficient and cost-effective solution. Grade change on the site was in excess of two feet.
Strategic construction planning and preparations are required on active campuses.
The structure interfaces with the existing outpatient center on the west façade, including a campus bus stop and pedestrian crossing at street level. Longer horizontal openings in the façade bordering the neighborhood were used to minimize the verticality of the structure and repeat the theme of the streetscape.
